Sometimes you just need a waffle. Last weekend I was in San Francisco with some friends and we went to check out the uber-trendy Blue Bottle Cafe in Mint Plaza. It was Labor Day, and there was a line around the corner. It seemed to be moving quickly so we waited. And waited.
My craving for waffles paid off, because my two friends that ordered eggs had to wait around for about 20 minutes before their food came. Obviously the waffles are made elsewhere in the joint because this beaut was served to me in 5. It was scrumptious. The New Orleans-Style iced coffee was a decent accompaniment, though I think if I return, I will shoot for one of those fancy coffees that are made from a college chemistry set.
The moral of this story is: If the line is around the block, order the Belgian Wafel with fruit and whipped cream.
