Roasted Broccoli

Is there anything simpler than just throwing some kind of vegetable on a sheet pan, tossing it with oil, salt and pepper and tossing in in the oven for ten minutes?  I think not.

And it’s hard, really, hard to believe that the result is so satisfying that you find yourself eating enough of said vegetable for four adult humans.

But at least you can console yourself with the fact that you’ve eaten your daily 5.  The other people in the household can fend for themselves.

Roasted Broccoli


  • 1 head broccoli
  • Olive oil, salt, pepper


  • Preheat the oven to 350.
  • Cut the broccoli into pieces that are all similar in size so that they will cook evenly.
  • Drizzle with olive oil, just enough to coat.
  • Sprinkle with some salt and freshly ground pepper and toss it around.
  • Roast in the oven for 10-15 minutes, shaking the pan halfway through. Cook until the veggies are done to your liking. Some like them crispier than others.
