Nana Recipe Wednesday—Peanut Butter Dates

by Sarah on December 7, 2011

Doesn’t Nana look pretty?  This is pre-kids, so she’s younger than 21.  Those boots are killer, too.  Me-ow, Nana.

In the spirit of Christmas, I’m making my first holiday treat.  There is no actual recipe card for this one, but I remember them always being on the platter of holiday cookies and candy.
3 ingredients is all you need!  I didn’t even have to go to the store.
Split the date with a pairing knife and remove the pit.
Take about a half a tablespoon of creamy peanut butter and put it where the pit used to be.
Close up the date
And roll in granulated sugar.
That’s all there is to it.
I know, this is probably strange-looking.
But the flavor combination is really great and is a nice alternative to a regular cookie.

Nana's Peanut Butter Dates

  • Creamy peanut butter
  • Granulated sugar, for rolling

  • Split dates with a pairing knife and remove the pit.
  • Fill the center of the date with 1/2 Tbsp peanut butter and close.
  • Roll in granulated sugar.
