Gee, I’m sorry Nana wasn’t out to play yesterday but I spaced on posting….what, with all the packing of my suitcase, searching high and low for a damn computer battery (stores don’t carry these, it seems), and the crack of dawn flight to Houston and on to Cancun. Yes, that’s right suckas, I am at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya right at this very moment, in my comfy bed in my luxurious room. The room with my free room service slip hung on my doorknob. The door that’s just beyond the free mini-bar that is stocked with espresso, tequila (with salt), Perrier, beers and snacks. I could really get used to this lifestyle.
Had dinner with a group of folks, one of whom was Diane Cu, the lady half of the White on Rice Couple. Interesting ideas floating around, lots of insight on photography without getting too far into it–we are having a class in the morning on the subject. I got to briefly meet David Lebovitz–that name should sound familiar to you, as he’s my favorite–Food, Paris and humor, 3 of my favorite things. Sac-town’s own Elise Bauer from Simply Recipes is here too, and even though we live in the same town, we’d never met so that was cool too.
Anyway, I expect that the next few days are going to be both relaxing and exhilarating and I hope to learn a lot–so you all can look at better photographs at least….Shoot, you all keep coming back, I might as well try to spruce things up once in a while. I will do my best to keep you updated with words or pictures.
Toodles, or should I say…adiós for now muchachos.
