A delicious brew–too bad it’s only available in Minnesota–is the feature this week:
From the Surly Website:
CynicAle: Oh great, a fizzy yellow beer in a can, that’s just what the craft beer world needs! CynicAle melds Old World ingredients in a new school style. French malted barley, English oats and Belgian yeast create honey & black pepper flavors. Lively Slovenian hops provide the floral, apricot and peach notes. Toss your doubts away, toss one back and enjoy!

And that’s not all that’s on offer. Available year-round are Furious (IPA), Bender (brown ale), and Coffee Bender (coffee flavored brown ale). Seasonal brews include winter’s Abrasive Ale (double IPA), fall’s Surlyfest (NOT a German-style Oktoberfest bier), Hell (German-style Munich Helles), Bitter Brewer (not really a British bitter), Darkness (Russian imperial stout/American double stout), Smoke (oak aged smoked porter), Mild (session beer-English brown ale), and Wet (American pale ale).
Special Anniversary brews too! One is a quadruple bock, Two (otherwise known as Cranimal) is an aged stout with cranberries, and Three is a black braggot: 50% black malt and 50% honey. Wowza.
If you find yourself in the midwest, seek out this beer. You won’t be disappointed. In the meantime I’ll start bombarding them with requests to ship to California.
