Have you gotten wind of this so-called “Taco Tuesday” that’s supposedly all the rage with the kids lately? I dunno. I mean, tacos are a fabulous thing, but maybe this Tuesday, I need to start out with a donut (or doughnut). Sometimes a deep-fried piece of dough covered in sugar is just what the doctor ordered.
And I am just the luckiest girl in the world to live down the street from one of the best donut purveyors in Sacramento. And see how comfortable and at-home this box of donuts looks at the office next to the coffee maker? It might even make office coffee taste good. Maybe.
I always go for an assorted dozen. That is, if the assorted dozen includes an apple fritter, a blueberry doughnut and a few buttermilk bars–glazed AND plain.
A dozen doughnuts runs about 8 bucks, but that’s with the fritter. They’re darn cheap, folks.
P.S. They open at 1 a.m., so if you’re having a late-night craving, Marie’s is there for you!
