Saturday Night Special + Strawberry Season, Pt 2! Strawberry Daiquiri

by Sarah on June 5, 2010

A flat of “jam berries” doesn’t last too long, even in the fridge. What to do, what to do? No time for jam, no time for anything too time consuming. Pair that with a long, harrowing week at work and the answer is “I need a drink”. A-ha! Strawberry Daiquiri.

I was lacking in some of the “classic” daiquiri ingredients….such as limes…or white rum.  Whatever.  Improvise, friends!

I used dark rum, triple sec, sugar, an orange and strawberries.  If I had limes, I totally would’ve used them.

Everything into the blender, along with some ice.

Blend until slushy.  Pour into a pretty glass, go outside, take a deep breath and relax.

Strawberry Daiquiri

Ingredients

  • 1 cup strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 2 shots rum (white, preferably)
  • 1 shot triple sec
  • 1 spoonful sugar (more or less, to taste)
  • juice of 1/2 orange
  • juice of 1 lime (to taste)

Instructions

  • Place all above ingredients into a blender and blend until slushy.
