Here’s the Thing.

I’m swamped and I didn’t write anything for today.  Yesterday was the kid’s birthday.  I’m making 300 cupcakes for a wedding Saturday.  I went back to work.  I have my class final project due Saturday (of which I’m currently only halfway done).  I am going to a class tonight.  I have to deliver these stupid cupcakes to Granite Bay.  I have class tomorrow then have to go to said wedding.  Sunday is Mother’s Day.  You see my dilemma.

Here’s what I’ll leave you with:

My article in this month’s Midtown Monthly.

And MY PHOTOS!  Which of course I like better.  ‘Cuz they’re mine, and all.  Here’s the weird signage with a beautiful sunny spring day behind it.

The rehabbed back room.  They were obviously still working on it when I was there so I didn’t get to sit back there.  I prefer the front during the day anyway—sunshine and people watching are two of my favorite things.  I love the color of the booths though.  Viva turquoise!

Here are those fancy sinks I mentioned in the article.  Waterfall-ish.  Someone told me that the drunk people were having a hard time figuring out how to turn them on.  Ha ha!  Hint:  Push that little lever in the center UP.

The avocado flatbread and red leaf Caesar.  Loved the salad.  Both together were like two salads.  Fresh ingredients though and no skimping on the pricey avocados.

The Juicy Lucy!  Quite good.  I am going to Minneapolis this summer so I plan to have a REAL Jucy Lucy (that’s how they spell it, really) and compare.

Fried cheese curds.  Good drunk food.

Bledsoe meatball sub.  Really good.  This is what the chicken Parm should be on instead of a flatbread.

The asparagus salad with “bacon sauce”.  YUM.  I would never expect to see this in a bar.  EVER.   Was so good.

The morels on toast.  Delicious but gone from the menu.  Sorry to tempt you like that.

Also, here’s something interesting.  I sent my uncle in Florida the article from the SacBee Appetizers blog and he decided to run with it.  You have to look under the “Business Spotlight” and read about the Crescent Beach Grocery.  Check it out.

That’s all, folks.  I will likely have fallen into a frenzy of anxiety and stress by later this afternoon, so just plan on not seeing a post till Monday.  Toodles!
