Saturday Night Special! Alabama Fizz

by Sarah on May 15, 2010

Yay WEEKEND!  Time to unwind.  I’m sitting here watching my dvr’d episode of American Masters on PBS.  It’s the Doors special with foxy Johnny Depp narrating.  Lots of cool old footage and leather pants.  At the point when they were recording Soft Parade, I decided I needed a drink.  I had this whole drink plan for this week but couldn’t find sloe gin at the local grocery.  I had to make do with what we had around the house.  Thank goodness for Old Mr. Boston, that book has a million ideas.

Here’s a delicious cocktail, perfect for this warm Sacramento evening.  The Alabama Fizz.

In the shaker:  The juice of half a lemon, a spoonful of powdered sugar, and 2 oz. dry gin.  Shake with cracked ice.

Strain into a highball glass with a few ice cubes.

Top with club soda.

Garnish with mint.  Drink up!
