How Do You Solve a Problem like Tomato? Fresh Salsa.

What do you do when you have too many of these?

Make Salsa!

Sunday Garden Salsa

Assorted tomatoes, chopped–I used several varieties, about 3 cups total
1/2 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 bunch cilantro, washed and chopped
1 small golden bell pepper, chopped
3 small jalapenos, seeded and minced
1 small fresno chile, seeded and minced
salt, pepper, chile flakes to taste

Chop it all up and mix together. Season to taste. My chiles weren’t that hot, so I added a Tbsp or so of chile flakes. Yummy and a good way to use up your tomaters before they get overripe.

ALSO: I have a ton of Asian pears. Anyone in the Sacramento area want any? Send me a comment if you do, and we can arrange something.

Honestly, I've not done much with them other than eat them. I want to try to make chutney with them. They are kind of crunchy like apples, so I don't see any reason they wouldn't be good to cook with.

On Epicurious, there's a bunch of savory recipes, and a few sweet ones. Send me an email if you still want some and I'll hook you up.
